*GREAT HUMAN INTEREST STORIES – For The National Enquirer. Although we’re best known for our celebrity/political scoops, we also run human-interest features. We’re looking for articles about heroes, animals, medical miracles, faith, survival, female role models, money saving, and more. UFO and Bigfoot stories need not apply! If you want more guidance on the types of stories we are seeking, take a look at any issue of The Enquirer. We pay competitive freelance rates. If you are professional journalist, we will consider hiring you to produce articles. Otherwise, we will pay you a fee just for making us aware of a story idea that leads to an article. REPORTER – Part-time for WPEC-Channel 12 in West Palm Beach. Collects and analyze information about newsworthy events to write news stories for broadcast and present reports in taped and live format. Responsible for producing and delivering news stories as assigned by the assignment editor or producers or newsroom managers, including conducting interviews, gathering information, finding photographic opportunities and writing the final story. In addition, reporters are expected to gather and generate potential story ideas, as well as follow up on previous stories as required. Requires bachelor’s degree from 4-year college or university or 1-2 years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have good news judgment, interviewing skills, broadcast writing skills, and working knowledge of area social and economic structure working knowledge of area city, county, state, and federal government. WRITERS – Freelance for Scripps Treasure Coast Newspapers to cover assignments for TCPalm.com and print, including metro, business, features, and sports. We cover Martin, St. Lucie, and Indian River counties. Some stories can be done by phone. There can be additional pay for those who contribute quality multimedia using their own equipment. Newspaper and Web writing experience strongly preferred; fluency in Spanish, Portuguese, or Creole a bonus.
