ABOUT THIS SITE

Why is this website so damn special?

How do I post a job?

I used to work for those assholes, how do I warn folks?

If this site is entirely free to use and abuse, how does it pay for itself?

Why is this website so damn special?

Because unlike other sites, it's free – free to peruse for a job and free to post a job. That makes it more complete. Besides the employers who contact me directly, I scour government, corporate, and other websites each week, looking for media jobs here in South Florida.

By the way, sales jobs are not posted here, and neither are purely technical jobs (like IT), even if they're at media businesses.

How do I post a job?

Just email me your job posting. For best results, be as descriptive as humanly possible: What are the specific job duties? What software do I need to know? What previous experience should I have? What are my chances of advancement? Be brutally honest, or you’re going to make yourself – and some poor soul – really miserable.

Please note: I edit for brevity and stupidity. I routinely delete obvious job requirements such as “seeking multi-tasker,” “must be deadline-oriented,” and “needs to possess strong interpersonal skills.” If you ever see a help-wanted ad that reads, “Seeking loner with no concept of time who can only handle one task a day,” let me know and I’ll change this policy.

This site also compiles an ever-growing list of South Florida media employers called The Inside Job. Besides providing background and links, it has a "comments" section where you can leave blunt – and anonymous – advice for anyone seeking a job with that particular business. It, too, is free. So go nuts.

It doesn’t. I pay for it.

Why?

Because, due to a reckless life up until now, I need good karma more than I need money.
